is the technique of placing a dried herb called “mugwort” on a specific acupuncture point on the body and burning that herb to activate the function of the acupuncture point (see above picture).
In Western terminology, moxibustion could be described as a vasodilator, so it helps improve circulation in the body. This technique helps improve circulation in the body, thus it boost your immune system and improves pain.
I used this technique on most adults and very commonly on children. Children many times are afraid of the acupuncture needles and need support in their developing immune system, so this technique is my choice of treatment.
